it happened on the third day, that behold, a man came out of the camp from Sha'ul, with his clothes torn, and dirt on his head: and so it was, when he came to David, that he fell to the earth, and did obeisance.


The king said, Let him turn to his own house, but let him not see my face. So Avshalom turned to his own house, and didn't see the king's face.


Avshalom lived two full years in Yerushalayim; and he didn't see the king's face.


So Yo'av came to the king, and told him; and when he had called for Avshalom, he came to the king, and bowed himself on his face to the ground before the king: and the king kissed Avshalom.


Bat-Sheva bowed, and did obeisance to the king. The king said, What would you?


Then Bat-Sheva bowed with her face to the earth, and did obeisance to the king, and said, Let my lord king David live forever.


Shlomo said, If he shall show himself a worthy man, there shall not a hair of him fall to the earth; but if wickedness be found in him, he shall die.


Now the days of David drew near that he should die; and he charged Shlomo his son, saying,


The king sent and called for Shim`i, and said to him, Build yourself a house in Yerushalayim, and dwell there, and don't go forth from there any where.


My son, fear the LORD and the king. Don't join those who are rebellious:
