also for the divisions of the Kohanim and the Levites, and for all the work of the service of the house of the LORD, and for all the vessels of service in the house of the LORD;


Behold, there are the divisions of the Kohanim and the Levites, for all the service of the house of God: and there shall be with you in all manner of work every willing man who has skill, for any manner of service: also the captains and all the people will be entirely at your command.


Now the acts of David the king, first and last, behold, they are written in the history of Shemu'el the seer, and in the history of Natan the prophet, and in the history of Gad the seer,


and `Ovadyah 1 the son of Shemayah, the son of Galal, the son of Yedutun, and Berekhyah the son of Asa, the son of Elkana, who lived in the villages of the Netofati.


So they and their children had the oversight of the gates of the house of the LORD, even the house of the tent, by wards.


Mattityah, one of the Levites, who was the firstborn of Shallum the Korchite, had the office of trust over the things that were baked in pans.


He set the porters at the gates of the house of the LORD, that no one who was unclean in anything should enter in.


Under him were `Eden, and Minyamin, and Yeshua, and Shemayah, Amaryah, and Shekhanyahu, in the cities of the Kohanim, in their office of trust, to give to their brothers by divisions, as well to the great as to the small:


and those who were reckoned by genealogy of all their little ones, their wives, and their sons, and their daughters, through all the congregation: for in their office of trust they sanctified themselves in holiness.


Of the Levites, certain divisions in Yehudah [were joined] to Binyamin.


On that day were men appointed over the chambers for the treasures, for the wave offerings, for the first fruits, and for the tithes, to gather into them, according to the fields of the cities, the portions appointed by the law for the Kohanim and Levites: for Yehudah rejoiced for the Kohanim and for the Levites who waited.


(In earlier times in Yisra'el, when a man went to inquire of God, thus he said, Come, and let us go to the seer; for he who is now called a Prophet was before called a Seer.)
