and Tzadok the son of Achituv, and Achimelekh the son of Avyatar, were Kohanim; and Serayah was scribe;


When they had called to the king, there came out to them Elyakim the son of Chilkiyah, who was over the household, and Shevna the scribe, and Yo'ach the son of Asaf the recorder.


The king commanded Chilkiyah the Kohen Gadol, and the Kohanim of the second order, and the keepers of the threshold, to bring forth out of the temple of the LORD all the vessels that were made for Ba`al, and for the Asherah, and for all the army of the sky, and he burned them outside of Yerushalayim in the fields of the Kidron, and carried the ashes of them to Beit-El.


The captain of the guard took Serayah the chief Kohen, and Tzefanyah the second Kohen, and the three keepers of the threshold:


Thus were they divided impartially by drawing lots; for there were princes of the sanctuary, and princes of God, both of the sons of El`azar, and of the sons of Itamar.


and `Adayah the son of Yerocham, the son of Pashchur, the son of Malkiyah, and Ma`asai the son of `Adi'el, the son of Yachzerah, the son of Meshullam, the son of Meshillemit, the son of Immer;


Yechi'el, and `Azazyahu, and Nachat, and `Asa'el, and Yerimot, and Yozavad, and Eli'el, and Yismakhyahu, and Machat, and Benayah, were overseers under the hand of Kananyahu and Shim`i his brother, by the appointment of Chizkiyahu the king, and `Azaryah the ruler of the house of God.


Serayah the son of Chilkiyah, the son of Meshullam, the son of Tzadok, the son of Merayot, the son of Achituv, the ruler of the house of God,


Now Pashchur, the son of Immer the Kohen, who was chief officer in the house of the LORD, heard Yirmeyahu prophesying these things.


This is the service of the families of the sons of the Gershoni in the Tent of Meeting: and their charge shall be under the hand of Itamar the son of Aharon the Kohen.

Then the captain went with the officers, and brought them without violence, for they were afraid that the people might stone them.
