The sons of `Amram: Aharon and Moshe; and Aharon was separated, that he should sanctify the most holy things, he and his sons, forever, to burn incense before the LORD, to minister to him, and to bless in his name, forever.


These were the divisions of the sons of Aharon. The sons of Aharon: Nadav and Avihu, El`azar and Itamar.


This was the ordering of them in their service, to come into the house of the LORD according to the ordinance [given] to them by Aharon their father, as the LORD, the God of Yisra'el, had commanded him.


These are those who waited, and their sons. Of the sons of the Kehati: Heman the singer, the son of Yo'el, the son of Shemu'el,


the son of Tzuf, the son of Elkana, the son of Machat, the son of `Amasai,


My sons, don't be negligent now; for the LORD has chosen you to stand before him, to minister to him, and that you should be his ministers, and burn incense.


*Bring Aharon your brother, and his sons with him, near to you from among the children of Yisra'el, that he may minister to me in the Kohen's office, even Aharon, Nadav and Avihu, El`azar and Itamar, Aharon's sons.


Aharon shall burn incense of sweet spices on it every morning. When he tends the lamps, he shall burn it.


The sons of Aharon the Kohen shall put fire on the altar, and lay wood in order on the fire;


but its innards and its legs he shall wash with water. The Kohen shall burn the whole on the altar, for a burnt offering, an offering made by fire, of a sweet savor to the LORD.


There shall be no one in the Tent of Meeting when he enters to make atonement in the Holy Place, until he comes out, and has made atonement for himself and for his household, and for all the assembly of Yisra'el.


He shall sprinkle some of the blood on it with his finger seven times, and cleanse it, and make it holy from the uncleanness of the children of Yisra'el.


Now there was a certain man of Ramatayim-Tzofim, of the hill country of Efrayim, and his name was Elkana, the son of Yerocham, the son of Elihu, the son of Tochu, the son of Tzuf, an Efratite:
