12 either three years of famine; or three months to be consumed before your foes, while the sword of your enemies overtakes you; or else three days the sword of the LORD, even pestilence in the land, and the angel of the LORD destroying throughout all the borders of Yisra'el. There was a famine in the days of David three years, year after year; and David sought the face of the LORD. The LORD said, It is for Sha'ul, and for his bloody house, because he put to death the Giv`onim.


Eliyahu the Tishbi, who was of the foreigners of Gil`ad, said to Ach'av, As the LORD, the God of Yisra'el, lives, before whom I stand, there shall not be dew nor rain these years, but according to my word.


It happened that night, that the angel of the LORD went forth, and struck in the camp of the Ashur one hundred eighty-five thousand: and when men arose early in the morning, behold, these were all dead bodies.


Now Elisha had spoken to the woman, whose son he had restored to life, saying, Arise, and go you and your household, and sojourn wherever you can sojourn: for the LORD has called for a famine; and it shall also come on the land seven years.


So Gad came to David, and said to him, Thus says the LORD, Take which you will:


nor of the pestilence that walks in darkness, nor of the destruction that wastes at noonday.


For the LORD will pass through to strike the Egyptians; and when he sees the blood on the lintel, and on the two doorposts, the LORD will pass over the door, and will not allow the destroyer to come in to your houses to strike you.


For by fire will the LORD execute judgment, and by his sword, on all flesh; and the slain of the LORD shall be many.

But truly I tell you, there were many widows in Yisra'el in the days of Eliyahu, when the sky was shut up three years and six months, when a great famine came over all the land.


Immediately an angel of the Lord struck him, because he didn't give God the glory, and he was eaten by worms and died.


But it shall come to pass, if you will not listen to the voice of the LORD your God, to observe to do all his mitzvot and his statutes which I command you this day, that all these curses shall come on you, and overtake you.


The LORD will strike you with consumption, and with fever, and with inflammation, and with fiery heat, and with the sword, and with blight, and with mildew; and they shall pursue you until you perish.


The LORD will cause you to be struck before your enemies; you shall go out one way against them, and shall flee seven ways before them: and you shall be tossed back and forth among all the kingdoms of the earth.


The LORD will strike you with the boil of Egypt, and with the tumors, and with the scurvy, and with the itch, of which you can not be healed.


The LORD will strike you in the knees, and in the legs, with a sore boil, of which you can not be healed, from the sole of your foot to the crown of your head.
