The Syrians fled before Yisra'el; and David killed of the Syrians [the men of] seven hundred chariots, and forty thousand horsemen, and struck Shovakh the captain of their army, so that he died there.


It was told David; and he gathered all Yisra'el together, and passed over the Yarden, and came on them, and set the battle in array against them. So when David had put the battle in array against the Syrians, they fought with him.


When the servants of Hadad`ezer saw that they were put to the worse before Yisra'el, they made shalom with David, and served him: neither would the Syrians help the children of `Ammon any more.


the God who arms me with strength, and makes my way perfect?


There is no king saved by the multitude of an army. A mighty man is not delivered by great strength.


The LORD of Armies is with us. The God of Ya`akov is our refuge. Selah.
