So the Levites appointed Heman the son of Yo'el; and of his brothers, Asaf the son of Berekhyah; and of the sons of Merari their brothers, Etan the son of Kushayahu;


Oh give thanks to the LORD, for he is good, for his loving kindness endures forever.


So he left there, before the ark of the covenant of the LORD, Asaf and his brothers, to minister before the ark continually, as every day's work required;


These are those who waited, and their sons. Of the sons of the Kehati: Heman the singer, the son of Yo'el, the son of Shemu'el,


When he had taken counsel with the people, he appointed those who should sing to the LORD, and give praise in holy array, as they went out before the army, and say, Give thanks to the LORD; for his loving kindness endures forever.
