The three mighty men broke through the army of the Pelishtim, and drew water out of the well of Beit-Lechem, that was by the gate, and took it, and brought it to David: but he would not drink of it, but poured it out to the LORD.


David longed, and said, Oh that one would give me water to drink of the well of Beit-Lechem, which is by the gate!


and said, My God forbid it me, that I should do this: shall I drink the blood of these men who have put their lives in jeopardy? for with [the jeopardy of] their lives they brought it. Therefore he would not drink it. These things did the three mighty men.


Set me as a seal on your heart, as a seal on your arm; for love is strong as death. Jealousy is as cruel as She'ol. Its flashes are flashes of fire, a very flame of the LORD.


But these things don't count; nor do I hold my life dear to myself, so that I may finish my race with joy, and the ministry which I received from the Lord Yeshua, to fully testify to the Good News of the grace of God.
