They gather in hiding places and watch everything I do, hoping to kill me.


I was like a trusting lamb taken out to be killed, and I did not know that it was against me that they were planning evil things. They were saying, “Let's chop down the tree while it is still healthy; let's kill him so that no one will remember him any more.”


But they must obey me and observe the Sabbath as a sacred day. They must not carry any load through the gates of Jerusalem on that day, for if they do, I will set the gates of Jerusalem on fire. Fire will burn down the palaces of Jerusalem, and no one will be able to put it out.”


Peter was sitting outside in the courtyard when one of the High Priest's servant women came to him and said, “You, too, were with Jesus of Galilee.”


Then Pilate's soldiers took Jesus into the governor's palace, and the whole company gathered around him.


Peter followed from a distance and went into the courtyard of the High Priest's house. There he sat down with the guards, keeping himself warm by the fire.


Peter was still down in the courtyard when one of the High Priest's servant women came by.


The soldiers took Jesus inside to the courtyard of the governor's palace and called together the rest of the company.


A fire had been lit in the center of the courtyard, and Peter joined those who were sitting around it.


and Annas and Caiaphas were High Priests. At that time the word of God came to John son of Zechariah in the desert.


The chief priests and the Pharisees had given orders that if anyone knew where Jesus was, he must report it, so that they could arrest him.


Then Annas sent him, still tied up, to Caiaphas the High Priest.


Early in the morning Jesus was taken from Caiaphas' house to the governor's palace. The Jewish authorities did not go inside the palace, for they wanted to keep themselves ritually clean, in order to be able to eat the Passover meal.
