10 Joshua drew lots to consult the Lord for them, and assigned each of the remaining tribes of Israel a certain part of the land.

Since there were Temple officials and spiritual leaders among the descendants of both Eleazar and Ithamar, assignments were made by drawing lots.


The leaders settled in Jerusalem, and the rest of the people drew lots to choose one family out of every ten to go and live in the holy city of Jerusalem, while the rest were to live in the other cities and towns.


He chose for us the land where we live, the proud possession of his people, whom he loves.


You have heard my promises, O God, and you have given me what belongs to those who honor you.


If two powerful people are opposing each other in court, casting lots can settle the issue.


Go to Shiloh, the first place where I chose to be worshiped, and see what I did to it because of the sins of my people Israel.


it is to be your permanent possession. The foreigners who are living among you and who have had children born here are also to receive their share of the land when you divide it. They are to be treated like full Israelite citizens and are to draw lots for shares of the land along with the tribes of Israel.


The Sovereign Lord said, “That is the way the land is to be divided into sections for the tribes of Israel to possess.”


So then, when the time comes for the land to be given back to the Lord's people, there will be no share for any of you.


They crucified him and then divided his clothes among them by throwing dice.


For you gave him authority over all people, so that he might give eternal life to all those you gave him.


He destroyed seven nations in the land of Canaan and made his people the owners of the land.

As the Lord had commanded Moses, the territories of the nine and one-half tribes west of the Jordan were determined by drawing lots.


The people of Israel divided the land as the Lord had commanded Moses.


The territory belonging to the families of the tribe of Benjamin was the first to be assigned. Their land lay between the tribes of Judah and Joseph.


Write down a description of these seven divisions and bring it to me. Then I will draw lots to consult the Lord our God for you.


The men went on their way to map out the land after Joshua had given them these instructions: “Go all over the land and map it out, and come back to me. And then here in Shiloh I will consult the Lord for you by drawing lots.”


So the men went all over the land and set down in writing how they divided it into seven parts, making a list of the towns. Then they went back to Joshua in the camp at Shiloh.


Eleazar the priest, Joshua son of Nun, and the leaders of the families of the tribes of Israel assigned these parts of the land by drawing lots to consult the Lord at Shiloh, at the entrance of the Tent of the Lord's presence. In this way they finished dividing the land.


I have assigned as the possession of your tribes the land of the nations that are still left, as well as of all the nations that I have already conquered, from the Jordan River in the east to the Mediterranean Sea in the west.
