“Kings and their armies are running away!” The women at home divided what was captured:


figures of doves covered with silver, whose wings glittered with fine gold. (Why did some of you stay among the sheep pens on the day of battle?)

After this, Joshua and his army went back to the camp at Gilgal.


Someone found them, and Joshua was told where they were hiding.


These five Amorite kings, the kings of Jerusalem, Hebron, Jarmuth, Lachish, and Eglon, joined forces, surrounded Gibeon, and attacked it.


Then the kings of the earth, the rulers and the military chiefs, the rich and the powerful, and all other people, slave and free, hid themselves in caves and under rocks on the mountains.


The Midianites were stronger than Israel, and the people of Israel hid from them in caves and other safe places in the hills.
