He will tend his flock like a shepherd; he will gather the lambs in his arms; he will carry them in his bosom, and gently lead those that are with young.


Kings shall be your foster fathers, and their queens your nursing mothers. With their faces to the ground they shall bow down to you, and lick the dust of your feet. Then you will know that I am the Lord; those who wait for me shall not be put to shame.”


As one whom his mother comforts, so I will comfort you; you shall be comforted in Jerusalem.


Did I conceive all this people? Did I give them birth, that you should say to me, ‘Carry them in your bosom, as a nurse carries a nursing child,’ to the land that you swore to give their fathers?


And for about forty years he put up with them in the wilderness.


And I was with you in weakness and in fear and much trembling,


To the weak I became weak, that I might win the weak. I have become all things to all people, that by all means I might save some.


I, Paul, myself entreat you, by the meekness and gentleness of Christ—I who am humble when face to face with you, but bold toward you when I am away!—


For he was crucified in weakness, but lives by the power of God. For we also are weak in him, but in dealing with you we will live with him by the power of God.


my little children, for whom I am again in the anguish of childbirth until Christ is formed in you!


For you know how, like a father with his children,


But the wisdom from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, open to reason, full of mercy and good fruits, impartial and sincere.
