18 “Egypt, there were many big and powerful trees in Eden. Which of those trees should I compare you to! They all went down into the world below! And you too will join those foreigners {\cf2\super [257]} in that place of death. You will lie there among the people killed in battle.

Don’t tell the news in Gath, [3] Don’t announce it in the streets of Ashkelon. [4] Those Philistine cities would be happy! Those foreigners [5] would be glad.


In Ahaz’s troubles, he sinned worse and became more unfaithful to the Lord.


“Look what happened to the man\par who did not depend on God.\par That man thought his wealth and lies\par would protect him.”\par


Strangers will treat you like a foreigner {\cf2\super [235]} \par and kill you.\par \{Those things will happen because\}\par I gave the command!’”\par The Lord my Master said those things.\par

In the past, all the trees of Eden, the best of Lebanon, drank that water. Those trees were comforted in the world below.

Even the cedar trees in God’s garden\par were not as big as this tree.\par Cypress trees did not have as many branches.\par Plane-trees did not have such branches.\par No tree in God’s garden\par was as beautiful as this tree.\par


I gave it many branches\par and made it beautiful.\par And all the trees in Eden, God’s garden,\par were jealous!’”\par


I will make many people shocked about you. Their kings will be terribly afraid about you, when I swing my sword before them. The kings will shake with fear every moment on the day you fall. Each king will be afraid for his own life.”

“Strong and powerful men were killed in battle. Those foreigners went down to the place of death. And from that place, those men that were killed will speak to Egypt and his helpers.


What is the seed that fell by the path? That seed is like the person that hears the teaching about the kingdom but does not understand it. The Evil One (the devil) comes and takes away the things that were planted in that person’s heart.


So, my dear friends, stay away from worshiping idols. {\cf2\super [69]}


David asked the men standing near him, “{What did he say?} What is the reward for killing this Philistine and taking away this shame from Israel? Who is this Goliath anyway? He is only some foreigner. [153] Goliath is nothing but a Philistine. Why does he think he can speak against the army of the living God?”


I killed a lion and a bear like that! And I will kill that foreigner, [155] Goliath, just like them! Goliath will die because he made fun of the army of the living God.
