My heart hath uttered a good word I speak my works to the king; My tongue is the pen of a scrivener that writeth swiftly.


To thee have I cried from the ends of the earth: when my heart was in anguish, thou hast exalted me on a rock. Thou hast conducted me;


Many pastors have destroyed my vineyard: they have trodden my portion under foot, they have changed my delightful portion into a desolate wilderness.


Yet I planted thee a chosen vineyard, all true seed: how then art thou turned unto me into that which is good for nothing, O strange vineyard?


Therefore thus saith the Lord God: As the vine-tree among the trees of the forests which I have given to the fire to be consumed, so will I deliver up the inhabitants of Jerusalem.


And it sprung up and grew into a spreading vine of low stature: and the branches thereof looked towards him and the roots thereof were under him. So it became a vine and grew into branches and shot forth sprigs.


Thy mother is like a vine in thy blood planted by the water: her fruit and her branches have grown out of many waters.


Which also our fathers receiving, brought in with Jesus, into the possession of the Gentiles, whom God drove out before the face of our fathers, unto the days of David.


Of all that dwell in the mountains from Libanus, to the waters of Maserephoth, and all the Sidonians. I am he that will cut them off from before the face of the children of Israel. So let their land come in as a part of the inheritance of Israel, as I have commanded thee.
