Now Isaac was old, and his eyes were dim, and he could not see: and he called Esau, his elder son, and said to him: My son? And he answered: Here I am.


This way of theirs is a stumbling-block to them: and afterwards they shall delight in their mouth.


Before him the Ethiopians shall fall down: and his enemies shall lick the ground.


We are become a reproach to our neighbours: a scorn and derision to them that are round about us.


Pour out thy wrath upon the nations that have not known thee: and upon the kingdoms that have not called upon thy name.


And thou shalt tell thy son in that day, saying: This is what the Lord did to me when I came forth out of Egypt.


Even to your old age I am the same, and to your grey hairs I will carry you. I have made you, and I will bear: I will carry and will save.


Arise, arise, put on strength, O thou arm of the Lord: arise as in the days of old, in the ancient generations. Hast not thou struck the proud one, and wounded the dragon?


WHO hath believed our report? And to whom is the arm of the Lord revealed?
