What dost thou here, or as if thou wert somebody here? For thou hast hewed thee out a sepulchre here, thou hast hewed out a monument carefully in a high place, a dwelling for thyself in a rock.


And he shall give the ungodly for his burial and the rich for his death: because he hath done no iniquity, neither was there deceit in his mouth.


And behold there was a great earthquake. For an angel of the Lord descended from heaven, and coming, rolled back the stone, and sat upon it.


And when he had understood it by the centurion, he gave the body to Joseph.


And Mary Magdalen, and Mary the mother of Joseph, beheld where he was laid.


And taking him down, he wrapped him in fine linen, and laid him in a sepulchre that was hewed in stone, wherein never yet any man had been laid.


Jesus therefore again groaning in himself, cometh to the sepulchre. Now it was a cave; and a stone was laid over it.


They took therefore the stone away. And Jesus lifting up his eyes said: Father, I give thee thanks that thou hast heard me.


AND on the first day of the week, Mary Magdalen cometh early, when it was yet dark, unto the sepulchre; and she saw the stone taken away from the sepulchre.
