And, behold, one that had escaped told Abram the Hebrew, who dwelt in the vale of Mambre the Amorrhite, the brother of Escol, and the brother of Aner: for these had made league with Abram.


And Abimelech answered: I knew not who did this thing; and thou didst not tell me, and I heard not of it till to-day.


And Abraham set apart seven ewe lambs of the flock.


Come therefore, let us enter into a league: that it may be for a testimony between me and thee.


The expectation of him that expecteth, is a most acceptable jewel: whithersoever he turneth himself, he understandeth wisely.


A man's gift enlargeth his may, and maketh him room before princes.


A man amiable in society, shall be more friendly than a brother.


A secret present quencheth anger: and a gift in the bosom the greatest wrath.


But the prince will devise such things as are worthy of a prince: and he shall stand above the rulers.


And he shall take one of the king's seed and make a covenant with him and take an oath of him. Yea, and he shall take away the mighty men of the land,


Foolish, dissolute, without affection, without fidelity, without mercy.


Brethren (I speak after the manner of man,) yet a man's testament, if it be confirmed, no man despiseth, nor addeth to it.


And David and Jonathan made a covenant: for he loved him as his own soul.
