Then hear thou in heaven, in the place of thy dwelling, and forgive, and do so as to give to every one according to his ways, as thou shalt see his heart (for thou only knowest the heart of all the children of men).


And thou, my son Solomon, know the God of thy father, and serve him with a perfect heart, and a willing mind. For the Lord searcheth all hearts, and understandeth all the thoughts of minds. If thou seek him, thou shalt find him: but if thou forsake him, he will cast thee off for ever.


I know, my God, that thou provest hearts, and lovest simplicity. Wherefore I also in the simplicity of my heart have joyfully offered all these things: and I have seen with great joy thy people, which are here present, offer thee their offerings.


The Lord judgeth the people. Judge me, O Lord, according to my justice, and according to my innocence in me.


Hell and destruction are before the Lord: how much more the hearts of the children of men?


But thou, O Lord of Sabaoth, who judgest justly and triest the reins and hearts, let me see thy revenge on them: for to thee I have revealed my cause.


I am the Lord who search the heart and prove the reins: who give to every one according to his way and according to the fruit of his devices.


And thou, O Lord of hosts, prover of the just, who seest the reins and the heart: let me see, I beseech thee, thy vengeance on them, for to thee I have laid open my cause.


May the Lord the God of the spirits of all flesh provide a man, that may be over this multitude:


And he said to them: You are they who justify yourselves before men, but God knoweth your hearts; for that which is high to men, is an abomination before God.


He said to him the third time: Simon, son of John, lovest thou me? Peter was grieved, because he had said to him the third time: Lovest thou me? And he said to him: Lord, thou knowest all things: thou knowest that I love thee. He said to him: Feed my sheep.


And passing through Pisidia, they came into Pamphylia.


And God, who knoweth the hearts, gave testimony, giving unto them the Holy Ghost, as well as to us;


These they set before the apostles; and they praying, imposed hands upon them.


And he that searcheth the hearts, knoweth what the Spirit desireth; because he asketh for the saints according to God.


Neither is there any creature invisible in his sight: but all things are naked and open to his eyes, to whom our speech is.


And I will kill her children with death, and all the churches shall know that I am he that searcheth the reins and hearts, and I will give to every one of you according to your works. But to you I say,


And Saul said to the Lord: O Lord God of Israel, give a sign, by which we may know, what the meaning is, that thou answerest not thy servant to-day. If this iniquity be in me, or in my son Jonathan, give a proof: or if this iniquity be in thy people, give holiness. And Jonathan and Saul were taken, and the people escaped.


And the Lord said to Samuel: Look not on his countenance, nor on the height of his stature: because I have rejected him. Nor do I judge according to the look of man: for man seeth those things that appear, but the Lord beholdeth the heart.
