He went out to the spring of the waters, and cast the salt into it, and said: Thus saith the Lord: I have healed these waters, and there shall be no more in them death or barrenness.


But he said: Bring some meal. And when they had brought it, he cast it into the pot, and said: Pour out for the people, that they may eat. And there was now no bitterness in the pot.


And it happened, as one was felling some timber, that the head of the axe fell into the water. And he cried out, and said: Alas, alas, alas, my lord, for this same was borrowed.


And he said: Take it up. And he put out his hand and took it.


But he cried to the Lord, and he shewed him a tree, which when he had cast into the waters, they were turned into sweetness. There he appointed him ordinances, and judgments, and there he proved him,
