That day God made a covenant with Abram, saying: To thy seed will I give this land, from the river of Egypt even to the great river Euphrates.


And Solomon had under him all the kingdoms from the river to the land of the Philistines, even to the border of Egypt: and they brought him presents, and served him, all the days of his life.


And it shall come to pass that in that day the Lord will strike from the channel of the river even to the torrent of Egypt: and you shall be gathered together one by one, O ye children of Israel.


Against Egypt, against the army of Pharao Nechao king of Egypt, which was by the river Euphrates in Charcamis, whom Nabuchodonosor the king of Babylon defeated, in the fourth year of Joakim the son of Josias king of Juda.


Let not the swift flee away nor the strong think to escape: they are overthrown and fallen down, towards the north, by the river Euphrates.


Son of man, I have broken the arm of Pharao king of Egypt: and behold it is not bound up, to be healed, to be tied up with clothes, and swathed with linen, that it might recover strength, and hold the sword.


Therefore, thus saith the Lord God: Behold, I come against Pharao king of Egypt, and I will break into pieces his strong arm, which is already broken: and I will cause the sword to fall out of his hand:


And the limits shall fetch a compass from Asemona to the torrent of Egypt, and shall end in the shore of the great sea.


And from thence passing along into Asemona, and reaching the torrent of Egypt. And the bounds thereof shall be the great sea. This shall be the limit of the south coast.
