And eagerly followed him the Simon and those with him.


And he says to them: We must go into the neighboring towns, that also there I may preach; for this because I have come out.


And went out to him all the Judea country, and the Jerusalem all; and were dipped in the Jordan river by him, confessing the sins of them.


If we allow him thus, all will believe into him; and will come the Romans, and will take away of us both the place and the nation.


The then Pharisees said to themselves: You see that not you gain nothing; see, the world after him is going away.


And they came to the John, and said to him: Rabbi, who was with thee beyond the Jordan, to whom thou has testified, behold, he dips, and all come to him.
