So Satan left the Lord’s presence and infected Job with terrible boils from the soles of his feet to the top of his head.


Night pierces my bones, but my gnawing pains never rest.


He sent fire from on high  into my bones; he made it descend.  , He spread a net for my feet and turned me back. He made me desolate, ill all day long.


He has worn away my flesh and skin; he has broken my bones.


Now they appear darker than soot; they are not recognised in the streets. Their skin has shrivelled on their bones; it has become dry like wood.


Our skin is as hot  as an oven from the ravages of hunger.


I heard, and I trembled within; my lips quivered at the sound. Rottenness entered my bones; I trembled where I stood. Now I must quietly wait for the day of distress to come against the people invading us.
