Then Elijah ordered them, ‘Seize the prophets of Baal!  Do not let even one of them escape.’ So they seized them, and Elijah brought them down to the Wadi Kishon  and slaughtered them there.


He told them, ‘This is what the Lord, the God of Israel, says, “Every man fasten his sword to his side; go back and forth through the camp from entrance to entrance, and each of you kill his brother, his friend, and his neighbour.” ’


Their bows will cut young men to pieces. They will have no compassion on offspring; they will not look with pity on children.


The Lord of Armies has directly revealed to me: ‘This iniquity will not be wiped out for you people as long as you live.’  , The Lord God of Armies has spoken.


I heard the Lord of Armies say: Indeed, many houses  will become desolate, grand and lovely ones without inhabitants.


for Death  has climbed through our windows; it has entered our fortresses, cutting off children from the streets, young men from the squares.


I, the Lord, have spoken. It is coming, and I will do it! I will not refrain, I will not show pity, and I will not relent. I  will judge you according to your ways and deeds.  This is the declaration of the Lord  God.” ’


The vision I saw  was like the one I had seen when he  came to destroy the city,  and like the ones I had seen by the Chebar Canal.  I fell face down.


‘Therefore, as I live’ #– #this is the declaration of the Lord God  #– #‘I will withdraw and show you no pity, because you have defiled my sanctuary  with all your abhorrent acts and detestable practices.  Yes, I will not spare you.


I will not look on you with pity or spare you, but I will punish you for your ways and for your detestable practices within you. Then you will know that I am the  Lord.’
