Jehoahaz  was  twenty-three years old when he became king, and he reigned for three months in Jerusalem. His mother’s name was Hamutal  daughter of Jeremiah; she was from Libnah.


Then King Neco of Egypt made Jehoahaz’s brother Eliakim king over Judah and Jerusalem and changed Eliakim’s name to Jehoiakim. But Neco took his brother Jehoahaz and brought him to Egypt.


Now King Nebuchadnezzar of Babylon attacked him  and bound him in bronze  shackles to take him to Babylon.


Therefore, this is what the Lord says concerning Jehoiakim  son of Josiah, king of Judah: They will not mourn for him, saying, ‘Woe, my brother! ’ or ‘Woe, my sister! ’ They will not mourn for him, saying, ‘Woe, lord! Woe, his majesty! ’


She brought up one of her cubs, and he became a young lion. After he learned to tear prey, he devoured people.


When she saw that she waited in vain, that her hope was lost, she took another of her cubs and made him a young lion.
