and asked, “Hagar, where have you come from, and where are you going?” She answered, “I'm running away from Sarai, my owner.”


But God came to Abimelech in a dream and said, “You have taken a married woman into your home, and for this you will die!”


But God appeared to Laban in a dream that night and warned, “Don't say a word to Jacob. Don't make a threat or a promise.”


Afterwards the Lord asked Cain, “Where is Abel?” “How should I know?” he answered. “Am I supposed to look after my brother?”


Joseph replied: Your Majesty, both of your dreams mean the same thing, and in them God has shown what he is going to do.


The Lord answered, “What's that in your hand?” “A walking stick,” Moses replied.


“They are messengers from King Balak of Moab,” Balaam answered. “He sent them


That night, God said, “Balaam, I'll let you go to Moab with Balak's messengers, but do only what I say.”


“Spend the night here,” Balaam replied, “and tomorrow I will tell you the Lord's answer.” So the officials stayed at his house.


False messiahs and false prophets will come and work great miracles and signs. They will even try to fool God's chosen ones.


On the day of judgment many will call me their Lord. They will say, “We preached in your name, and in your name we forced out demons and worked many miracles.”


Caiaphas did not say this on his own. As high priest that year, he was prophesying that Jesus would die for the nation.
