Those prophets will be ashamed of their so-called visions, and they won't deceive anyone by dressing like a true prophet.


As John's followers were going away, Jesus spoke to the crowds about John: What sort of person did you go out into the desert to see? Was he like tall grass blown about by the wind?


What did you really go out to see? Was he a prophet? He certainly was. I tell you that he was more than a prophet.


John wore clothes made of camel's hair. He had a leather strap around his waist and ate grasshoppers and wild honey.


What kind of man did you really go out to see? Was he someone dressed in fine clothes? People who wear expensive clothes and live in luxury are in the king's palace.


Even today we go hungry and thirsty and don't have anything to wear except rags. We are mistreated and don't have a place to live.


I have worked and struggled and spent many sleepless nights. I have gone hungry and thirsty and often had nothing to eat. I have been cold from not having enough clothes to keep me warm.


Because of hunger, a man who had been gentle and kind will eat his own children and refuse to share the meal with his brother or wife or with his other children.


My two witnesses will wear sackcloth, while I let them preach for 1,260 days.
