Ezekiel, son of man, the people living in the ruined cities of Israel are saying, “Abraham was just one man, and the Lord gave him this whole land of Israel. There are many of us, and so this land must be ours.”


I tell you God's kingdom will be taken from you and given to people who will do what he demands.


Do something to show you have really given up your sins.


And don't start telling yourselves that you belong to Abraham's family. I tell you that God can turn these stones into children for Abraham.


Once the owner of the house gets up and locks the door, you will be left standing outside. You will knock on the door and say, “Sir, open the door for us!” But the owner will answer, “I don't know a thing about you!”


Then you will start saying, “We dined with you, and you taught in our streets.”


Then the one who invited you will come and say, “Give your place to this other guest!” You will be embarrassed and will have to sit in the worst place.


But Jesus answered, “If they keep quiet, these stones will start shouting.”


Jesus said to Zacchaeus, “Today you and your family have been saved, because you are a true son of Abraham.


The Pharisees and the experts began arguing, “Jesus must think he is God! Only God can forgive sins.”


They answered, “We are Abraham's children! We have never been anyone's slaves. How can you say we will be set free?”


The people said to Jesus, “Abraham is our father!” Jesus replied, “If you were Abraham's children, you would do what Abraham did.


First I preached to the people in Damascus, and then I went to Jerusalem and all over Judea. Finally, I went to the Gentiles and said, “Stop sinning and turn to God! Then prove what you have done by the way you live.”


Everything depends on having faith in God, so that God's promise is assured by his gift of undeserved grace. This promise isn't only for Abraham's descendants who have the Law. It is for all who are Abraham's descendants because they have faith, just as he did. Abraham is the ancestor of us all.


In fact, when God made the promise to Abraham, he meant only Abraham's descendants by his son Isaac. God was talking only about Isaac when he promised


Jesus Christ will keep you busy doing good deeds that bring glory and praise to God.
