Abraham bowed with his face to the ground and thought, “I am almost 100 years old. How can I become a father? And Sarah is 90. How can she have a child?” So he started laughing.


Abraham and Sarah were very old, and Sarah was well past the age for having children.


Rebekah still had no children. So Isaac asked the Lord to let her have a child, and the Lord answered his prayer.


Rachel was very jealous of Leah for having children, and she said to Jacob, “I'll die if you don't give me some children!”


King David was now an old man, and he always felt cold, even under a lot of blankets.

Abraham's faith never became weak, not even when he was nearly 100 years old. He knew he was almost dead and that his wife Sarah could not have children.


Even when Sarah was too old to have children, she had faith that God would do what he had promised, and she had a son.


Elkanah had two wives, Hannah and Peninnah. Although Peninnah had children, Hannah did not have any.
