Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death,\par\tab I will fear no evil; for thou art with me;\par\tab Thy rod and thy staff, they comfort me.


One thing have I asked of Jehovah, that will I seek after:\par\tab That I may dwell in the house of Jehovah all the days of my life,\par\tab To behold the beauty of Jehovah,\par\tab And to inquire in his temple.


And let the favor of the Lord our God be upon us;\par\tab And establish thou the work of our hands upon us;\par\tab Yea, the work of our hands establish thou it.\par


but with righteousness shall he judge the poor, and decide with equity for the meek of the earth; and he shall smite the earth with the rod of his mouth; and with the breath of his lips shall he slay the wicked.


He will feed his flock like a shepherd, he will gather the lambs in his arm, and carry them in his bosom, {\i and} will gently lead those that have their young.\par


The Spirit of the Lord Jehovah is upon me; because Jehovah hath anointed me to preach good tidings unto the meek; he hath sent me to bind up the broken-hearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening {\i of the prison} to them that are bound;


But Nebuzaradan the captain of the guard left of the poor of the people, that had nothing, in the land of Judah, and gave them vineyards and fields at the same time.\par


And all the tithe of the herd or the flock, whatsoever passeth under the rod, the tenth shall be holy unto Jehovah.


Feed thy people with thy rod, the flock of thy heritage, which dwell solitarily, in the forest in the midst of Carmel: let them feed in Bashan and Gilead, as in the days of old.


But I will leave in the midst of thee an afflicted and poor people, and they shall take refuge in the name of Jehovah.


Then I cut asunder mine other staff, even Bands, that I might break the brotherhood between Judah and Israel.\par


Thus said Jehovah my God: Feed the flock of slaughter;


the {\b blind receive their sight,} and the lame walk, the lepers are cleansed, and the deaf hear, and the dead are raised up, and the {\b poor have good tidings preached to them.}

And other sheep I have, which are not of this fold: them also I must bring, and they shall hear my voice: and they shall become one flock, one shepherd.


Hearken, my beloved brethren; did not God choose them that are poor as to the world {\i to be} rich in faith, and heirs of the kingdom which he promised to them that love him?


And he took his staff in his hand, and chose him five smooth stones out of the brook, and put them in the shepherd's bag which he had, even in his wallet; and his sling was in his hand: and he drew near to the Philistine.


And the Philistine said unto David, Am I a dog, that thou comest to me with staves? And the Philistine cursed David by his gods.
