Surely there is not a righteous man upon earth, that doeth good, and sinneth not.

All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and Jehovah hath laid on him the iniquity of us all.\par


The way of peace they know not; and there is no justice in their goings: they have made them crooked paths; whosoever goeth therein doth not know peace.\par


For we are all become as one that is unclean, and all our righteousnesses are as a polluted garment: and we all do fade as a leaf; and our iniquities, like the wind, take us away.


For my people have committed two evils: they have forsaken me, the fountain of living waters, and hewed them out cisterns, broken cisterns, that can hold no water.\par


And cast ye out the unprofitable servant into the outer darkness: there shall be the weeping and the gnashing of teeth.\par

among whom we also all once lived in the lusts of our flesh, doing the desires of the flesh and of the mind, and were by nature children of wrath, even as the rest:—


who once was unprofitable to thee, but now is profitable to thee and to me:


For ye were going astray like sheep; but are now returned unto the Shepherd and Bishop of your souls.\par
