For Jehovah hath chosen Jacob unto himself,\par\tab {\i And} Israel for his own possession.


In Jehovah shall all the seed of Israel be justified, and shall glory.\par


The heads thereof judge for reward, and the priests thereof teach for hire, and the prophets thereof divine for money: yet they lean upon Jehovah, and say, Is not Jehovah in the midst of us? no evil shall come upon us.


In that day shalt thou not be put to shame for all thy doings, wherein thou hast transgressed against me; for then I will take away out of the midst of thee thy proudly exulting ones, and thou shalt no more be haughty in my holy mountain.


and think not to say within yourselves, We have Abraham to our father: for I say unto you, that God is able of these stones to raise up children unto Abraham.


And he said unto him, {\cf6 Thou hast answered right: {\b this do, and thou shalt live.}}


Ye search the scriptures, because ye think that in them ye have eternal life; and these are they which bear witness of me;


Think not that I will accuse you to the Father: there is one that accuseth you, {\i even} Moses, on whom ye have set your hope.


Did not Moses give you the law, and {\i yet} none of you doeth the law? Why seek ye to kill me?}


They answered unto him, We are Abraham's seed, and have never yet been in bondage to any man: how sayest thou, {\cf6 Ye shall be made free?}


Ye do the works of your father.} They said unto him, We were not born of fornication; we have one Father, {\i even} God.


thou who gloriest in the law, through thy transgression of the law dishonorest thou God?


Where then is the glorying? It is excluded. By what manner of law? of works? Nay: but by a law of faith.


Wherefore? Because {\i they sought it} not by faith, but as it were by works. They stumbled at the stone of stumbling;


Are they Hebrews? so am I. Are they Israelites? so am I. Are they the seed of Abraham? so am I.


We being Jews by nature, and not sinners of the Gentiles,


Wherefore remember, that once ye, the Gentiles in the flesh, who are called Uncircumcision by that which is called Circumcision, in the flesh, made by hands;


I know thy tribulation, and thy poverty (but thou art rich), and the blasphemy of them that say they are Jews, and they are not, but are a synagogue of Satan.


{\cf6 And to the angel of the church in Sardis write:\par\tab These things saith he that hath the seven Spirits of God, and the seven stars: I know thy works, that thou hast a name that thou livest, and thou art dead.


Behold, I give of the synagogue of Satan, of them that say they are Jews, and they are not, but do lie; behold, I will make them to come and worship before thy feet, and to know that I have loved thee.
