For it came to pass, when Solomon was old, that his wives turned away his heart after other gods; and his heart was not perfect with Jehovah his God, as was the heart of David his father.


And he walked in all the sins of his father, which he had done before him; and his heart was not perfect with Jehovah his God, as the heart of David his father.


And he did that which was right in the eyes of Jehovah, but not with a perfect heart.


{\i But} I would strengthen you with my mouth,\par\tab And the solace of my lips would assuage {\i your grief}.\par


Strengthen ye the weak hands, and confirm the feeble knees.


His watchmen are blind, they are all without knowledge; they are all dumb dogs, they cannot bark; dreaming, lying down, loving to slumber.


I will declare thy righteousness; and as for thy works, they shall not profit thee.


I will seek that which was lost, and will bring back that which was driven away, and will bind up that which was broken, and will strengthen that which was sick: but the fat and the strong I will destroy; I will feed them in justice.\par


TEKEL; thou art weighed in the balances, and art found wanting.


For, lo, I will raise up a shepherd in the land, who will not visit those that are cut off, neither will seek those that are scattered, nor heal that which is broken, nor feed that which is sound; but he will eat the flesh of the fat {\i sheep}, and will tear their hoofs in pieces.


But all their works they do to be seen of men: for they make broad their phylacteries, and enlarge the borders {\i of their garments},


Watch therefore, for ye know not the day nor the hour.\par

Remember therefore how thou hast received and didst hear; and keep {\i it}, and repent. If therefore thou shalt not watch, I will come as a thief, and thou shalt not know what hour I will come upon thee.
