and, behold, here cometh a troop of men, horsemen in pairs. And he answered and said, Fallen, fallen is Babylon; and all the graven images of her gods are broken unto the ground.\par


but these two things shall come to thee in a moment in one day, the loss of children, and widowhood; in their full measure shall they come upon thee, in the multitude of thy sorceries, and the great abundance of thine enchantments.


Alas! for that day is great, so that none is like it: it is even the time of Jacob's trouble; but he shall be saved out of it.


I will also vex the hearts of many peoples, when I shall bring thy destruction among the nations, into the countries which thou hast not known.


Alas for the day! for the day of Jehovah is at hand, and as destruction from the Almighty shall it come.


Therefore thus saith Jehovah, the God of hosts, the Lord: Wailing shall be in all the broad ways; and they shall say in all the streets, Alas! alas! and they shall call the husbandman to mourning, and such as are skilful in lamentation to wailing.


And all Israel that were round about them fled at the cry of them; for they said, Lest the earth swallow us up.


And their dead bodies {\i lie} in the street of the great city, which spiritually is called Sodom and Egypt, where also their Lord was crucified.


And another angel, a second, followed, saying, Fallen, fallen is Babylon the great, that hath made all the nations to drink of the wine of the wrath of her fornication.\par


And the great city was divided into into three parts, and the cities of the nations fell: and Babylon the great was remembered in the sight of God, to give unto her the cup of the wine of the fierceness of his wrath.


And the ten horns that thou sawest are ten kings, who have received no kingdom as yet; but they receive authority as kings, with the beast, for one hour.


and cried out as they looked upon the smoke of her burning, saying, What {\i city} is like the great city?


And they cast dust on their heads, and cried, weeping and mourning, saying, Woe, woe, the great city, wherein all that had {\i their} ships in the sea were made rich by reason of her costliness! for in one hour is she made desolate.


And a strong angel took up a stone as it were a great millstone and cast it into the sea, saying, Thus with a mighty fall shall Babylon, the great city, be cast down, and shall be found no more at all.


Therefore in one day shall her plagues come, death, and mourning, and famine; and she shall be utterly burned with fire; for strong is the Lord God who judged her.
