and, behold, here cometh a troop of men, horsemen in pairs. And he answered and said, Fallen, fallen is Babylon; and all the graven images of her gods are broken unto the ground.\par


The word that Jehovah spake concerning Babylon, concerning the land of the Chaldeans, by Jeremiah the prophet.\par


and thou shalt say, Thus shall Babylon sink, and shall not rise again because of the evil that I will bring upon her; and they shall be weary.\par\par\tab Thus far are the words of Jeremiah.\par


The king spake and said, Is not this great Babylon, which I have built for the royal dwelling-place, by the might of my power and for the glory of my majesty?


There is no assuaging of thy hurt: thy wound is grievous: all that hear the report of thee clap their hands over thee; for upon whom hath not thy wickedness passed continually?\par


And their dead bodies {\i lie} in the street of the great city, which spiritually is called Sodom and Egypt, where also their Lord was crucified.


And the great city was divided into into three parts, and the cities of the nations fell: and Babylon the great was remembered in the sight of God, to give unto her the cup of the wine of the fierceness of his wrath.


And the woman whom thou sawest is the great city, which reigneth over the kings of the earth.\par
