The Jews had light and gladness, and joy and honor.


And {\i thy} life shall be clearer than the noonday;\par\tab Though there be darkness, it shall be as the morning.


Thou shalt also decree a thing, and it shall be established unto thee;\par\tab And light shall shine upon thy ways.


Unto the upright there ariseth light in the darkness:\par\tab {\i He is} gracious, and merciful, and righteous.


For thou wilt light my lamp:\par\tab Jehovah my God will lighten my darkness.


Sing unto God, sing praises to his name:\par\tab Cast up a highway for him that rideth through the deserts;\par\tab His name is Jehovah; and exult ye before him.


But the path of the righteous is as the dawning light,\par\tab That shineth more and more unto the perfect day.


Then shall thy light break forth as the morning, and thy healing shall spring forth speedily; and thy righteousness shall go before thee; the glory of Jehovah shall be thy rearward.


For Zion's sake will I not hold my peace, and for Jerusalem's sake I will not rest, until her righteousness go forth as brightness, and her salvation as a lamp that burneth.


I will bear the indignation of Jehovah, because I have sinned against him, until he plead my cause, and execute judgment for me: he will bring me forth to the light, {\i and} I shall behold his righteousness.


I am come a light into the world, that whosoever believeth on me may not abide in the darkness.


For he that soweth unto his own flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption; but he that soweth unto the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap eternal life.


And the city hath no need of the sun, neither of the moon, to shine upon it: for the glory of God did lighten it, and the lamp thereof {\i is} the Lamb.


And there shall be night no more; and they need no light of lamp, neither light of sun; for the Lord God shall give them light: and they shall reign for ever and ever.\par
