My friends scoff at me:\par\tab {\i But} mine eye poureth out tears unto God,


Mine eye also is dim by reason of sorrow,\par\tab And all my members are as a shadow.


{\i Why is light given} to a man whose way is hid,\par\tab And whom God hath hedged in?


For I have eaten ashes like bread,\par\tab And mingled my drink with weeping,


I spread forth my hands unto thee:\par\tab My soul {\i thirsteth} after thee, as a weary land. {\i Selah


My heart throbbeth, my strength faileth me:\par\tab As for the light of mine eyes, it also is gone from me.
