O my God, in thee have I trusted,\par\tab Let me not be put to shame;\par\tab Let not mine enemies triumph over me.


{\b {\i A Psalm} of David.}\par\par\tab Jehovah is my light and my salvation;\par\tab Whom shall I fear?\par\tab Jehovah is the strength of my life;\par\tab Of whom shall I be afraid?


But he, being merciful, forgave {\i their} iniquity, and destroyed {\i them} not:\par\tab Yea, many a time turned he his anger away,\par\tab And did not stir up all his wrath.


Turn us again, O Jehovah God of hosts;\par\tab Cause thy face to shine, and we shall be saved.\par

I have surely heard Ephraim bemoaning himself {\i thus}, Thou hast chastised me, and I was chastised, as a calf unaccustomed {\i to the yoke}: turn thou me, and I shall be turned; for thou art Jehovah my God.


Turn thou us unto thee, O Jehovah, and we shall be turned;\par\tab Renew our days as of old.


O Lord, according to all thy righteousness, let thine anger and thy wrath, I pray thee, be turned away from thy city Jerusalem, thy holy mountain; because for our sins, and for the iniquities of our fathers, Jerusalem and thy people are become a reproach to all that are round about us.


I will not execute the fierceness of mine anger, I will not return to destroy Ephraim: for I am God, and not man; the Holy One in the midst of thee; and I will not come in wrath.


But as for me, I will look unto Jehovah; I will wait for the God of my salvation: my God will hear me.


And he shall turn the heart of the fathers to the children, and the heart of the children to their fathers; lest I come and smite the earth with a curse.\par


Ye worship that which ye know not: we worship that which we know; for salvation is from the Jews.


And they raised over him a great heap of stones, unto this day; and Jehovah turned from the fierceness of his anger. Wherefore the name of that place was called, The valley of Achor, unto this day.
