The tents of robbers prosper,\par\tab And they that provoke God are secure;\par\tab Into whose hand God bringeth {\i abundantly}.\par


Upright men shall be astonished at this,\par\tab And the innocent shall stir up himself against the godless.


Wherefore do the wicked live,\par\tab Become old, yea, wax mighty in power?


{\i God} giveth them to be in security, and they rest thereon;\par\tab And his eyes are upon their ways.


His ways are firm at all times;\par\tab Thy judgments are far above out of his sight:\par\tab As for all his adversaries, he puffeth at them.


{\b {\i A Psalm} of David.}\par\par\tab Fret not thyself because of evil-doers,\par\tab Neither be thou envious against them that work unrighteousness.


Rest in Jehovah, and wait patiently for him:\par\tab Fret not thyself because of him who prospereth in his way,\par\tab Because of the man who bringeth wicked devices to pass.


Let not thy heart envy sinners;\par\tab But {\i be thou} in the fear of Jehovah all the day long:


Be not thou envious against evil men;\par\tab Neither desire to be with them:


Envy thou not the man of violence,\par\tab And choose none of his ways.


All this have I seen in my days of vanity: there is a righteous man that perisheth in his righteousness, and there is a wicked man that prolongeth {\i his life} in his evil-doing.


Righteous art thou, O Jehovah, when I contend with thee; yet would I reason the cause with thee: wherefore doth the way of the wicked prosper? wherefore are all they at ease that deal very treacherously?


and now we call the proud happy; yea, they that work wickedness are built up; yea, they tempt God, and escape.\par


Or think ye that the scripture speaketh in vain? Doth the spirit which he made to dwell in us long unto envying?
