He lurketh in secret as a lion in his covert;\par\tab He lieth in wait to catch the poor:\par\tab He doth catch the poor, when he draweth him in his net.


This is the reward of mine adversaries from Jehovah,\par\tab And of them that speak evil against my soul.


The kings of the earth set themselves,\par\tab And the rulers take counsel together,\par\tab Against Jehovah, and against his anointed, {\i saying},


For I have heard the defaming of many,\par\tab Terror on every side:\par\tab While they took counsel together against me\par\tab They devised to take away my life.


They gather themselves together, they hide themselves,\par\tab They mark my steps,\par\tab Even as they have waited for my soul.


They take crafty counsel against thy people,\par\tab And consult together against thy hidden ones.


If they say, Come with us,\par\tab Let us lay wait for blood;\par\tab Let us lurk privily for the innocent without cause;


For I have heard the defaming of many, terror on every side. Denounce, and we will denounce him, {\i say} all my familiar friends, they that watch for my fall; peradventure he will be persuaded, and we shall prevail against him, and we shall take our revenge on him.
