And Haman recounted unto them the glory of his riches, and the multitude of his children, and all the things wherein the king had promoted him, and how he had advanced him above the princes and servants of the king.


He shall not be afraid of evil tidings:\par\tab His heart is fixed, trusting in Jehovah.


His heart is established, he shall not be afraid,\par\tab Until he see {\i his desire} upon his adversaries.


Lo, this is the man that made not God his strength,\par\tab But trusted in the abundance of his riches,\par\tab And strengthened himself in his wickedness.


All the day long they wrest my words:\par\tab All their thoughts are against me for evil.


Shall they escape by iniquity?\par\tab In anger cast down the peoples, O God.


Trust not in oppression,\par\tab And become not vain in robbery:\par\tab If riches increase, set not your heart {\i thereon}.


The rich man's wealth is his strong city:\par\tab The destruction of the poor is their poverty.


He that trusteth in his riches shall fall;\par\tab But the righteous shall flourish as the green leaf.


Wilt thou set thine eyes upon that which is not?\par\tab For {\i riches} certainly make themselves wings,\par\tab Like an eagle that flieth toward heaven.


Thus saith Jehovah, Let not the wise man glory in his wisdom, neither let the mighty man glory in his might, let not the rich man glory in his riches;


And Ephraim said, Surely I am become rich, I have found me wealth: in all my labors they shall find in me no iniquity that were sin.


And the disciples were amazed at his words. But Jesus answereth again, and saith unto them, {\cf6 Children, how hard it is to enter into the kingdom of God!


And I will say to my soul, Soul, thou hast much goods laid up for many years; take thine ease, eat, drink, be merry.


Charge them that are rich in this present world, that they be not highminded, nor have their hope set on the uncertainty of riches, but on God, who giveth us richly all things to enjoy;
