Wherefore hidest thou thy face,\par\tab And holdest me for thine enemy?


Why standest thou afar off, O Jehovah?\par\tab Why hidest thou thyself in times of trouble?


He saith in his heart, God hath forgotten;\par\tab He hideth his face; he will never see it.


{\b For the Chief Musician. A Psalm of David.}\par\par\tab How long, O Jehovah? wilt thou forget me for ever?\par\tab How long wilt thou hide thy face from me?


Stir up thyself, and awake to the justice {\i due} unto me,\par\tab {\i Even} unto my cause, my God and my Lord.


I will say unto God my rock,\par\tab Why hast thou forgotten me?\par\tab Why go I mourning because of the oppression of the enemy?


Oh deliver not the soul of thy turtle-dove unto the wild beast:\par\tab Forget not the life of thy poor for ever.


Forget not the voice of thine adversaries:\par\tab The tumult of those that rise up against thee ascendeth continually.\par


Awake, awake, put on strength, O arm of Jehovah; awake, as in the days of old, the generations of ancient times. Is it not thou that didst cut Rahab in pieces, that didst pierce the monster?


And he said, I will hide my face from them, I will see what their end shall be: For they are a very perverse generation, Children in whom is no faithfulness.
