My foot hath held fast to his steps;\par\tab His way have I kept, and turned not aside.


Let darkness and the shadow of death claim it for their own;\par\tab Let a cloud dwell upon it;\par\tab Let all that maketh black the day terrify it.


I am a brother to jackals,\par\tab And a companion to ostriches.


Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death,\par\tab I will fear no evil; for thou art with me;\par\tab Thy rod and thy staff, they comfort me.


I am faint and sore bruised:\par\tab I have groaned by reason of the disquietness of my heart.


Make me to hear joy and gladness,\par\tab That the bones which thou hast broken may rejoice.


In that day Jehovah with his hard and great and strong sword will punish leviathan the swift serpent, and leviathan the crooked serpent; and he will slay the monster that is in the sea.\par


And the glowing sand shall become a pool, and the thirsty ground springs of water: in the habitation of jackals, where they lay, shall be grass with reeds and rushes.


And thou shalt say this word unto them, Let mine eyes run down with tears night and day, and let them not cease; for the virgin daughter of my people is broken with a great breach, with a very grievous wound.
