For the waves of death compassed me; The floods of ungodliness made me afraid:


But none saith, Where is God my Maker,\par\tab Who giveth songs in the night,


Then the waters had overwhelmed us,\par\tab The stream had gone over our soul;


Like the dew of Hermon,\par\tab That cometh down upon the mountains of Zion:\par\tab For there Jehovah commanded the blessing,\par\tab Even life for evermore.


Let the saints exult in glory:\par\tab Let them sing for joy upon their beds.


I will bless Jehovah, who hath given me counsel;\par\tab Yea, my heart instructeth me in the night seasons.

I call to remembrance my song in the night:\par\tab I commune with mine own heart;\par\tab And my spirit maketh diligent search.


Thou hast put mine acquaintance far from me;\par\tab Thou hast made me an abomination unto them:\par\tab I am shut up, and I cannot come forth.


Ye shall have a song as in the night when a holy feast is kept; and gladness of heart, as when one goeth with a pipe to come unto the mountain of Jehovah, to the Rock of Israel.


then I will command my blessing upon you in the sixth year, and it shall bring forth fruit for the three years.
