Ye put to shame the counsel of the poor,\par\tab Because Jehovah is his refuge.


Why do the nations rage,\par\tab And the peoples meditate a vain thing?


But thou, O Jehovah, art a shield about me;\par\tab My glory and the lifter up of my head.


I hate them that regard lying vanities;\par\tab But I trust in Jehovah.


Thou wilt destroy them that speak lies:\par\tab Jehovah abhorreth the blood-thirsty and deceitful man.


And call upon me in the day of trouble:\par\tab I will deliver thee, and thou shalt glorify me.\par


My soul is among lions;\par\tab I lie among them that are set on fire,\par\tab Even the sons of men, whose teeth are spears and arrows,\par\tab And their tongue a sharp sword.

The wicked are estranged from the womb:\par\tab They go astray as soon as they are born, speaking lies.


But the king shall rejoice in God:\par\tab Every one that sweareth by him shall glory;\par\tab For the mouth of them that speak lies shall be stopped.\par


He will judge thy people with righteousness,\par\tab And thy poor with justice.


And Moses and Aaron went in unto Pharaoh, and said unto him, Thus saith Jehovah, the God of the Hebrews, How long wilt thou refuse to humble thyself before me? let my people go, that they may serve me.


How long, ye simple ones, will ye love simplicity?\par\tab And scoffers delight them in scoffing,\par\tab And fools hate knowledge?


Because sentence against an evil work is not executed speedily, therefore the heart of the sons of men is fully set in them to do evil.


This is an evil in all that is done under the sun, that there is one event unto all: yea also, the heart of the sons of men is full of evil, and madness is in their heart while they live, and after that {\i they go} to the dead.


And they shall be dismayed and confounded, because of Ethiopia their expectation, and of Egypt their glory.


{\i But} Israel shall be saved by Jehovah with an everlasting salvation: ye shall not be put to shame nor confounded world without end.\par


None sueth in righteousness, and none pleadeth in truth: they trust in vanity, and speak lies; they conceive mischief, and bring forth iniquity.


Hath a nation changed {\i its} gods, which yet are no gods? but my people have changed their glory for that which doth not profit.


Thus saith Jehovah, What unrighteousness have your fathers found in me, that they are gone far from me, and have walked after vanity, and are become vain?


And they bend their tongue, {\i as it were} their bow, for falsehood; and they are grown strong in the land, but not for truth: for they proceed from evil to evil, and they know not me, saith Jehovah.


As they were multiplied, so they sinned against me: I will change their glory into shame.


They that regard lying vanities\par\tab Forsake their own mercy.


And Jehovah said unto Moses, How long will this people despise me? and how long will they not believe in me, for all the signs which I have wrought among them?


And the Jews also joined in the charge, affirming that these things were so.\par


that, according as it is written, {\b He that glorieth, let him glory in the Lord.}\par


Wherefore, putting away falsehood, {\b speak ye truth each one with his neighbor}: for we are members one of another.


and turn ye not aside; for then would ye go after vain things which cannot profit nor deliver, for they are vain.
