The posts went forth in haste by the king's commandment, and the decree was given out in Shushan the palace. And the king and Haman sat down to drink; but the city of Shushan was perplexed.\par


How much less when thou sayest thou beholdest him not,\par\tab The cause is before him, and thou waitest for him!


Wait for Jehovah:\par\tab Be strong, and let thy heart take courage;\par\tab Yea, wait thou for Jehovah.\par

I will not reprove thee for thy sacrifices;\par\tab And thy burnt-offerings are continually before me.

And the king shall do according to his will; and he shall exalt himself, and magnify himself above every god, and shall speak marvellous things against the God of gods; and he shall prosper till the indignation be accomplished; for that which is determined shall be done.


Then said they unto him, What shall we do unto thee, that the sea may be calm unto us? for the sea grew more and more tempestuous.


For the vision is yet for the appointed time, and it hasteth toward the end, and shall not lie: though it tarry, wait for it; because it will surely come, it will not delay.\par


And let us not be weary in well-doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.
