So they hanged Haman on the gallows that he had prepared for Mordecai. Then was the king's wrath pacified.\par


But man dieth, and is laid low:\par\tab Yea, man giveth up the ghost, and where is he?


That the triumphing of the wicked is short,\par\tab And the joy of the godless but for a moment?


They are exalted; yet a little while, and they are gone;\par\tab Yea, they are brought low, they are taken out of the way as all others,\par\tab And are cut off as the tops of the ears of grain.


He shall return no more to his house,\par\tab Neither shall his place know him any more.\par


And why dost thou not pardon my transgression, and take away mine iniquity?\par\tab For now shall I lie down in the dust;\par\tab And thou wilt seek me diligently, but I shall not be.\par


For the wind passeth over it, and it is gone;\par\tab And the place thereof shall know it no more.
