And they saw him afar off, and before he came near unto them, they conspired against him to slay him.


I said unto Jehovah, Thou art my God:\par\tab Give ear unto the voice of my supplications, O Jehovah.


Jehovah is my rock, and my fortress, and my deliverer;\par\tab My God, my rock, in whom I will take refuge;\par\tab My shield, and the horn of my salvation, my high tower.


Why art thou cast down, O my soul?\par\tab And why art thou disquieted within me?\par\tab Hope thou in God; for I shall yet praise him,\par\tab {\i Who is} the help of my countenance, and my God.\par


{\b A Psalm of David, when he was in the wilderness of Judah.}\par\par\tab O God, thou art my God; earnestly will I seek thee:\par\tab My soul thirsteth for thee, my flesh longeth for thee,\par\tab In a dry and weary land, where no water is.


O God, be not far from me;\par\tab O my God, make haste to help me.

For I have heard the defaming of many, terror on every side. Denounce, and we will denounce him, {\i say} all my familiar friends, they that watch for my fall; peradventure he will be persuaded, and we shall prevail against him, and we shall take our revenge on him.


And he went forward a little, and fell on his face, and prayed, saying, {\cf6 My Father, if it be possible, let this cup pass away from me: nevertheless, not as I will, but as thou wilt.}


Again a second time he went away, and prayed, saying, {\cf6 My Father, if this cannot pass away, except I drink it, thy will be done.}


And about the ninth hour Jesus cried with a loud voice, saying, {\cf6 {\b Eli, Eli, lema sabachthani?}} that is, {\cf6 {\b My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me?}}


Jesus saith to her, {\cf6 Touch me not; for I am not yet ascended unto the Father: but go unto my brethren, and say to them, I ascend unto my Father and your Father, and my God and your God.}
