For thou art my lamp, O Jehovah; And Jehovah will lighten my darkness.


And unto his son will I give one tribe, that David my servant may have a lamp alway before me in Jerusalem, the city which I have chosen me to put my name there.


Nevertheless for David's sake did Jehovah his God give him a lamp in Jerusalem, to set up his son after him, and to establish Jerusalem;


The light shall be dark in his tent,\par\tab And his lamp above him shall be put out.


When his lamp shined upon my head,\par\tab And by his light I walked through darkness;


Unto the upright there ariseth light in the darkness:\par\tab {\i He is} gracious, and merciful, and righteous.


There will I make the horn of David to bud:\par\tab I have ordained a lamp for mine anointed.


The spirit of man is the lamp of Jehovah,\par\tab Searching all his innermost parts.


The lofty looks of man shall be brought low, and the haughtiness of men shall be bowed down, and Jehovah alone shall be exalted in that day.\par


For there shall be a day of Jehovah of hosts upon all that is proud and haughty, and upon all that is lifted up; and it shall be brought low;


And I will bring the blind by a way that they know not; in paths that they know not will I lead them; I will make darkness light before them, and crooked places straight. These things will I do, and I will not forsake them.


For Zion's sake will I not hold my peace, and for Jerusalem's sake I will not rest, until her righteousness go forth as brightness, and her salvation as a lamp that burneth.


{\b The people that sat in darkness\par\tab Saw a great light,\par\tab And to them that sat in the region and shadow of death,\par\tab To them did light spring up.}\par


{\b To shine upon them that sit in darkness and the shadow of death};\par\tab To guide our feet into the way of peace.\par


But ye are an elect race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for {\i God's} own possession, that ye may show forth the excellencies of him who called you out of darkness into his marvellous light:
