The proud have hid a snare for me, and cords;\par\tab They have spread a net by the wayside;\par\tab They have set gins for me. {\i Selah


When my spirit was overwhelmed within me,\par\tab Thou knewest my path.\par\tab In the way wherein I walk\par\tab Have they hidden a snare for me.


Look on {\i my} right hand, and see;\par\tab For there is no man that knoweth me:\par\tab Refuge hath failed me;\par\tab No man careth for my soul.


They also that seek after my life lay snares {\i for me};\par\tab And they that seek my hurt speak mischievous things,\par\tab And meditate deceits all the day long.

Who have whet their tongue like a sword,\par\tab And have aimed their arrows, even bitter words,


The law of the wise is a fountain of life,\par\tab That one may depart from the snares of death.


Let a cry be heard from their houses, when thou shalt bring a troop suddenly upon them; for they have digged a pit to take me, and hid snares for my feet.


And they watched him, and sent forth spies, who feigned themselves to be righteous, that they might take hold of his speech, so as to deliver him up to the rule and to the authority of the governor.
