(Let me be weighed in an even balance,\par\tab That God may know mine integrity);


Jehovah is in his holy temple;\par\tab Jehovah, his throne is in heaven;\par\tab His eyes behold, his eyelids try, the children of men.


Jehovah trieth the righteous;\par\tab But the wicked and him that loveth violence his soul hateth.


{\b For the Chief Musician. A Psalm of David.}\par\par\tab O Jehovah, thou hast searched me, and known {\i me}.


Thou hast proved my heart; thou hast visited me in the night;\par\tab Thou hast tried me, and findest nothing;\par\tab I am purposed that my mouth shall not transgress.


Examine me, O Jehovah, and prove me;\par\tab Try my heart and my mind.


The refining pot is for silver, and the furnace for gold;\par\tab But Jehovah trieth the hearts.


But, O Jehovah of hosts, who judgest righteously, who triest the heart and the mind, I shall see thy vengeance on them; for unto thee have I revealed my cause.


And I will bring the third part into the fire, and will refine them as silver is refined, and will try them as gold is tried. They shall call on my name, and I will hear them: I will say, It is my people; and they shall say, Jehovah is my God.\par


who fed thee in the wilderness with manna, which thy fathers knew not; that he might humble thee, and that he might prove thee, to do thee good at thy latter end:


And thou shalt remember all the way which Jehovah thy God hath led thee these forty years in the wilderness, that he might humble thee, to prove thee, to know what was in thy heart, whether thou wouldest keep his commandments, or not.


that the proof of your faith, {\i being} more precious than gold that perisheth though it is proved by fire, may be found unto praise and glory and honor at the revelation of Jesus Christ:
